(If you’re wondering what would live in the top-left corner of the grid, it’s completely possible for a given piece of media to legitimately make good use of robot protagonists to explore issues that would be difficult or impossible to directly address with human characters and still be a shitty, dehumanising take. I leave identifying examples of the type as an exercise for the reader!)

the murderbot diaries it falls closest to ''robots permit the explicit exploration of issues that human characters can address only indirectly'' for me personall but for some ppl it's more dehumanizing murderbot is aspec rep (asexual/aromantic/agender) bc murderbot is a robotic construct it has a sense of self and identity but it does not care about human ideas of what it means to ''be'' it is a robot and enjoys being a robot with no desire to be human i love it but other people might be a bit more iffy abt it the series is a pretty good tool to help explain the concepts of aspec identities tho
