Okay I know these are SUPER blurry but the dwarf shrimp at work (who are already TINY shrimps) had even TINIER babies!!! The adults are only around an inch big, and the babies are smaller than grains of rice (or maybe about the size of a small grain of rice), so you can imagine the pain my phone was in trying to focus on them through the glass and water.
It looks like there’s a couple dozen of them all told; I know they won’t all make it, but I did a surface water change rather than a vacuum like normal (because I suspected that they might be Around) and when I poured the new water (gently!!) in, they all came out and started zipping around and looking busy. I’m so geeked to watch them grow up!
I’m dying, one of the guys at work made a baby shower cake for the shrimp moms because “they deserve it” and “they’re so small I didn’t think they could read congratulations but I forgot congrats existed.” He’s named two babies, Prawnathan and Crustashley.
